Kreativne Fleke
A women's group for mutual support, acceptance and creativity.

What happens at a KF session?
We start with an introduction to a topic we have chosen in advance. We ask questions about it, answer them together and share our thoughts and feelings.
Then we take a break to draw. Has the topic created images in us, or metaphors? Can we use colours to draw what we feel? Drawing takes us to a deeper, subconscious level of our emotions, and we come away with new insights.
If we want to, we show and describe our drawings. We find similarities and differences with the others, and connect emotionally through the process of creating and talking. Our drawings often give us a completely new perspective – by creating, we sublimate our emotions and leave them on the paper.
You could say that through our sessions we have developed the KF method, in which you don't need to know how to draw to express your emotions through colour and shape.
Why join?
As women, we often feel as if we are in a constant struggle, every single day – a struggle at work, a struggle to be understood and respected within our families, a struggle to keep our homes at least somewhat tidy despite an endless list of chores. A struggle to get a gynaecologist appointment, to find time for ourselves…
If you've had enough of all that, if you're tired of the constant effort and feel you'd like a space where you can relax, where you can be gentle with yourself, where you can share your frustrations and realise that you are not alone in this struggle – then you're in the right place.
Kreativne Fleke wants to create a space where there are more of us who have been through similar challenges and who support one another. Here we are not alone. This is a safe place for empowerment, support and togetherness.
Meeting online
We meet online on Thursdays at 6 pm. Why online? Because we are everywhere, all over Croatia and abroad, and often on the move, so we decided to meet online. That way Kreativne Fleke can grow and as many women as possible can join us.
Although we now mostly meet online, we occasionally hold in-person meetups and workshops, because nothing can replace the energy that is shared in person.
Join us
Kreativne Fleke is not a therapy group and is not funded by any organisation. We all share our experience voluntarily and in good faith.
If you feel you need psychological support, we'll gladly point you to the right services and therapists, but it's important to say that we are not a therapy group.
Our values
Acceptance without judgement
We believe judgement sits on the opposite side from love. Of course, a sense of judgement sometimes wakes up in us. In Fleke, as a group, we try to name that judgement, talk about it and explore it. Acceptance – of others and of ourselves – is a precondition for love.
Empowering women
As women, we understand women's problems best. We live in a world dominated by male principles and values such as strength, toughness, struggle, work and success. In such a world, the feminine principle of tenderness, compassion and care is often suppressed or neglected.
Creativity without limits
Art isn't reserved for the “talented”. Everyone carries stories inside – in colours, words, dance or music. Here we explore our own creativity and find freedom in expression, because everything that comes out of you has value.
Why “Kreativne Fleke”?
In Croatian, fleke means stains – the things we don't want on our clothes, on our reputation, on our CV, in the kitchen. Stains, imperfection – they are rarely accepted in this society.
Do you know a truly perfect person? I don't. And even though we all know that a perfect human being doesn't exist, we still find it hard to accept other people's imperfections and our own – our stains.
But it is exactly these stains, our imperfection, that can become the ground from which we draw an endless source of creativity and inspiration.

Who are Kreativne Fleke?
Kreativne Fleke are all the women who want to take part in conversations without judgement and to talk while respecting the core values of this community.
Does membership cost anything?
No. Membership and taking part are completely free.
Who is Kreativne Fleke for?
The minimum age is 18 – all adults are welcome.
I'm not sure I want to commit, but I'm curious about what you do. Can I still join?
Of course. We are an open group and welcome new members as long as they respect the group's principles and values.
